Application procedures

Follow these six steps during the SE4GD admissions process. Note that you can complete the first two steps before the application period begins.

  1. Study our admission requirements
  2. Willingness to accept
    1. Take a language test (if necessary)
    2. Start collecting your application documents
  3. Fill out and submit the application online
  4. Submit your language test results (if necessary)
  5. Monitor your email for our message and complete your order (if necessary)
  6. If your application is eligible and proceeds to academic assessment, wait until the selection results are published

See below for more information about each step.

Step 1 – Study our admission requirements

Before you begin the application process, check that you comply with admission requirements

Note: You cannot apply to the SE4GD program if you have previously received Erasmus Mundus funding.

Step 2 - Prepare for admission

If you are asked to take an English test and you have not taken the test yet, reserve a seat for it immediately. Applications without a valid English language test result are not eligible and will not be processed further.

In the application portal, you must first register yourself (top right corner) and then log in to start preparing your application. Try to answer all questions carefully and ask if you have any doubts. There are several mandatory elements to assist in our assessment process.

Step 3 - Fill out the application and submit it online

The application portal will be open during the application rounds. We have two rounds for each quantity (cohort).

  •    Applications for funded students (with a pre-determined range of scholarships) are submitted from December to January each year
  • Self-funded students apply from March to April each year

Late applications will not be accepted, so submit your application online before the application deadline. Before submitting it, you must carefully check the application and its attachments.

In the online application form, you will be asked about:

  • Personal and contact information
  • Previous education
  • Motivation for SE4GD studies
  • Course description of relevant courses taken
  • Scholarships you would like to apply for (including Erasmus Mundus scholarships)

In addition, you will be required to upload all of your application documents to the application portal. Try to obtain good quality electronic copies if possible.

NB!

If you apply as a funded student and do not obtain a study position and wish to apply as a self-funded student, the eMundus platform must give you the option to use your previous application in the funded student call. So you don't have to adjust everything again. If for some reason this doesn't work, let us know.

Step 4 - Submit your language test scores (if necessary)

If an official English test result is required (see admission requirements), how you submit your test result for verification depends on the test taken. The deadline for receipt of the English language test result by the SE4GD Admissions Office (SE4GD(a t)lut.fi) is

  • For funded students call – 1/31/2024.
  • For self-funded students Spring 2024 (follow dates on our home page)

If you followed these instructions, you have now applied to SE4GD and we will process your application. what happened after that?

Step 5 - Verify eligibility

The SE4GD Admissions Office will first check your online application and its attachments to ensure your eligibility.

Please note that the SE4GD Consortium will not process applications/documents received after the deadline. In addition, the Consortium will not review or comment on any application documents sent via email during the application process.

Step 6 – If your application is eligible, wait for the selection result to be published

Academic assessment means that academic staff at all six consortium universities will assess eligible SE4GD applications, and make final selection and scholarship decisions. This will take place in February and we hope to publish the selection results by mid-March.

We will inform all applicants of the selection results by email.

Acceptance letters and all practical instructions will be sent to selected students shortly after.

Good luck during the admissions process!
