About Bilkent University
Bilkent University was founded by Mr. Ihsan Dogramacı and through the joint cooperation between the Ihsan Dogramacci Education Foundation, the Ihsan Dogramacci Science and Research Foundation, and the Ihsan Dogramacci Health Foundation,
With the aim of creating a center of excellence in higher education and scientific research, these institutions have contributed to the establishment of many other institutions of higher education.
The name “Bilkent” also expresses the founder’s goal, because it represents an abbreviation for “bilim kenti,” which in Turkish means “city of science and knowledge.”
It includes faculty members from approximately 40 different countries. Most of them were working at prominent universities in North America and Europe
Good communication between faculty members and students, as every student at the university has the opportunity to discuss with professors and ask questions as a result of there being a reasonable proportion between the number of faculty members and the number of students in each classroom.
In order to enrich study programs and scientific research materials, Bilkent University has participated in cooperative projects and exchange programs with many universities abroad from countries such as Australia, Japan, Italy, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Canada and the United States of America.
The university has an employment center that works to help students acquire the skills necessary to compete in the labor market after graduation. The center organizes seminars and interviews between representatives of major companies, students and researchers.
The university has a computer center, which provides comprehensive computing services to meet all of the university's administrative, educational and research requirements
The university includes laboratories and advanced scientific research laboratories equipped with the latest technological equipment and more than 4,000 computers
The university has an alumni center, which aims to communicate with graduates from inside and outside Turkey and strengthen their relationships with the university. The center prepares various activities and seminars that provide graduates with opportunities to learn about available and expected career opportunities with speakers specialized in various fields, who talk about their success stories in their professional lives.
Bilkent University is considered one of the best Turkish universities. The university currently has about 13,000 students, including a large number of international students studying various specializations through 10 faculties, 3 graduate schools and 3 schools for professional programs.
About Bilkent University Scholarship Bilkent University
Bilkent University invites students from different countries of the world to apply for a scholarship to study a bachelor’s degree in Turkey, as this scholarship is open to all international students of different nationalities who wish to study in Turkey.
Terms and standards
To be eligible, an applicant must meet all of the following criteria:
- Students applying to Bilkent University must have a high school diploma as well as national or international test scores (SAT or EUS)
- Students can benefit from tuition waiver grants for a maximum of 4 semesters in the English language preparatory program and for a maximum of 10 semesters in 4-year undergraduate programs. Accommodation grants in university housing are also provided for up to 8 semesters
- Students are required to maintain a minimum annual GPA of 2.00/4.00.
- English Preparatory Program students will also be required to pass the PAE exam by the end of the academic year.
- Scholarships for students who fail to meet these conditions will be reduced by one or two levels and cannot be restored even if students improve their performance.
- Students receiving the Free University Housing Scholarship must maintain an annual GPA of at least 2.50/4.00. Students who fail to meet this requirement will lose their accommodation grant.
- Attendance at all lectures and academic activities is mandatory for all scholarship students, even if the course instructor does not take formal attendance or does not specify a minimum attendance. In the event of no-show, scholarships may be temporarily suspended at any time.

The scholarship will be allocated to study bachelor’s degrees in any major offered by the university. More details can be found here
Features of Bilkent University Scholarship
The scholarship includes the following features:
- A preparatory year for studying English for free.
- Full or partial scholarships for tuition fee waiver. Tuition fee waiver scholarships are awarded at five levels, ranging from 20% to 100%.
- University housing grant for a limited number of outstanding students who are on a full tuition waiver grant.
- Students can benefit from tuition waiver grants for a maximum of 4 semesters in the English language preparatory program and for a maximum of 10 semesters in 4-year undergraduate programs. Accommodation grants are provided for up to 8 semesters.

Important dates
Undergraduate applications for the fall semester of the 2024-2025 academic year will be open from February 5 to July 12, 2024.
