The American University in Bulgaria (or AUBG) is a private university located in Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria. Founded in 1991, American University today has approximately 1,000 students from more than 40 countries on 5 continents (as of fall 2019). Nearly 50% of students are international. The American University of Bulgaria is a leader in education for the ninth year in a row according to the 2019 National University Rankings.
The university is first in the country in the professional fields of management, management, political science, communication sciences and public information. American University graduates have a 0% unemployment rate in three majors (political science, information science, computer science, public communications, and information science) and the highest average salaries in four of the majors (business and management, economics, political science, and public communications and information science).
AUBG is also number one in all five specialties in terms of prestige, luxury and administrative services. The ranking shows that the American University in Bulgaria accepts students with the highest diploma GPA in all five majors.
About the American University scholarships funded to study in Bulgaria
Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic merit based on the strength of the applicant's high school performance and English proficiency test scores. Scholarships based on financial need or scholarships based on both financial need and academic merit require an application for financial aid.
In addition to merit-based and financial need-based scholarships, AUBG also offers financial aid. Financial aid amounts to $4.8 million each year.
